A little fun between husband and wife can bring happiness for several days!

For long-married couples, daily conversations often center on practical matters, such as: Who’s going to pick up the kids? Did you buy X? When will you be back?

While passion may diminish with time, couples should still harbor a love and desire for romance. So, today, I’d like to share a practical guide to romantic life for couples.

1. Enjoy a late-night snack with wine; the more you drink, the happier you become.

As the saying goes, middle-aged people are worse than dogs. For long-married couples, the pressures of work and raising a family mean their only free time is after 10 p.m. each night. By then, the children are asleep and the phones are off. A light snack, a glass of wine, and a moment of cuddling together can instantly make life much happier. However, excessive late-night snacking is not good for your health. Therefore, it should be done in moderation.

2. Verbal Flirting

Married couples don’t have to be too serious. Incorporating jokes and gossip into daily life can be fun and can help relieve stress. For example, if your husband is tired from work and feels a sore wrist and twists it, you could casually say, “Wow, are you secretly practicing your hand skills? Do you have a show tonight?” I’m sure he’ll jokingly reply, “Don’t be sore. It’s just my wrist.” If he’s also interested, he’ll usually say, “Yeah, why don’t you get ready? I’ll meet you later?” or perhaps even say he’ll give you a lesson or give you an injection later. Isn’t this a blatant invitation? Haha?

3. Set aside half a day each week to enjoy your time together.

You can ask an elderly parent to help look after the children on Saturday or Sunday afternoons, and then go out on your own. For example, go see a movie, then enjoy afternoon tea, visit an exhibition, or, if you have more time, stay in a comfortable hotel for the night. You can even secretly learn some techniques and props to spice up the atmosphere. Choose your destinations in advance, choosing places that are both comfortable and interesting. This will create a romantic atmosphere and make the experience memorable for both of you.

4. Exchange gifts

Giving gifts that resonate with your partner is always a great way to strengthen your relationship. Some straight men might give you something ugly but expensive (I’m sure girls understand the pain of that). Give your partner some hints about your recent favorites at various stages of your relationship. This way, they’ll usually prepare the gift you’re looking for! Men and women are actually quite easy to please; as long as you provide emotional value to both parties, it’s easy to win over. This will ensure a happy marriage, and your children will grow up happily in a loving home.
